This year's New Year's Eve was different. Jason and Skyler were at the Church Youth Activity. (They rented out the whole bowling alley and partied all night long.) Mitchell and Sawyer fell asleep early.
So we had a girl's party. We watched movies, ate snacks and snuggled. That's my kind of party.
The kids have been playing in the snow all day, and eating a lot of it. (Is that unhealthy?)
I love Christmas break. I wish they never had to back to school.
We came home to SO MUCH SNOW. It's beautiful! Our front lights look like two lit-up ice cream cones.
We're trying to stay home as much as possible because the roads are horrible. We're playing games and reading all of our new books. I'm in heaven.
Today was a special day. Tonight we went to the Bountiful, Utah temple to have our little Mitchell sealed to our family. The ceremony was so sweet and the kids were so good. I think they all felt the power and the wonder of being in such a sacred place and doing such an important thing.
It was extremely touching to have so many our friends and relatives there with us. And, even though they couldn't enter the temple, my sweet nieces and nephews waited in the lobby to see us when we come out.
Afterwards, we went to Jason's parent's house to eat yummy food and celebrate.
Oh, I love this tiny boy. I'm so grateful that he's ours forever.
Today was the official Heiner Christmas Party. Look what Grandma and Grandpa gave all of us!!
I love these pictures of the kids first waiting to find out what they were getting, and then FREAKING OUT when they did. They were all SO excited!
Because my parents are heading off on their mission soon, we gave them gifts like these cute pillowcases and this book.
And instead of exchanging sibling and cousin gifts this year, we used the money to assemble emergency kits for disaster victims. It was a great experience for our kids.
We traveled on to Grandma and Grandpa's today (my parents). We all went to church with them and then hung out with my siblings and their kids all day. Too fun.
Merry REAL Christmas! I slept in until 9 am today! I woke up wondering if I was the only mother in America who was still in bed. :)
All of Jason's siblings came back to Grammy's to play with us this afternoon after their Christmases. They're so sweet to us and our children.
We played with our Smith relatives all day today and then went to Temple Square tonight. It was a wonderful way to spend Christmas Eve.
Today we went to Grammy and Grandpa's (Jason's parents). They host a fun Grandkid's Christmas Party every year. The kids play games, make crafts and have a ball while their parents all go to eat at Cafe Rio. I love that tradition.

We passed out all the neighbor gifts, took the dog to the kennel, cleaned the house, tied up all our loose ends, and packed and packed and packed. It takes a lot to get a family of 7 on the road. I'm ready for this vacation.
