Grandma left today.  :(

We spent the rest of the day being lazy - reading, playing Wii, take-out dinner at the park, family movie night.  Good stuff.

July 30

 

I took advantage of having my mom here to babysit, and went and got my hair cut and permed.  I haven't gotten a perm since Jr. High.  Now I remember why.

Tonight my mom watched the kids while Jason and I went on a long date.  I love her.

July 29

 

My mom chipped her tooth.  I was thrilled, because a chipped tooth means a visit to her dentist in Cortez.  :)

She came this morning and spent the day helping my kids make homemade pizzas, then homemade ice cream, then homemade dolls to send to orphans in third world countries.  

What?!?  

I can barely get them to clean their rooms.

Macey went to her best friend's birthday party today.  She was overjoyed.  She spent the morning making sure that we all understood that we were not invited - only her.

Today we went school supply and school shoe shopping in the big city.  While we were there, we went to The Bounce House.  Because shoe shopping for five kids isn't tiring enough. 

We had a great time.

Today was a Friend Day.  Everyone had a friend over.   We don't have those days very often - maybe once or twice a week.  Our friends don't live within walking distance, so Friend Days require planning and driving.  But they're sure fun.

We had a family puzzle night.  It was pretty exciting - especially since we made all of these puzzles ourselves.  Aren't they cute?

In honor of Pioneer Day (and the fact that I forgot to take my camera to our ward's celebration) I'm using this as my picture of the day.

At the beginning of the summer, she passed out this flyer (below) to a few families in our ward.  

 

She's been busy all summer.  She loves it!
