I forgot how much newborns sleep.  This little guy sleeps about 17 hours a day.  Lucky.  But man, sometimes it's hard for us to leave him alone and let him rest.

I have a picture of Jason like this with every one of our kids.  I adore this man.

My wonderful father-in-law is retiring today.  His company does big shows at Disneyland (among other things).  He ran his last show tonight.  

All of his kids surprised him by flying to California to be there for his last show.  He was very touched.  

Jason had a fun weekend hanging out with his family - eating, talking and laughing.

This is Stay Up Night.  We have it once a week.  Everyone gets to stay up until 11:00 and then sleep in our room.  It's a big deal.  

The kids really wanted Mitchell to come to his first Stay Up Night.  He lasted about 45 minutes.

May 27

THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

  

 Here's Shaylin's cute class saying good-bye in their empty classroom.

  

Here is Shay with her sweet teacher, Mr. Hensen.  She said, "I never saw him get mad at anyone all year, even at the boys!"  Big compliment.

  

Skyler was saddest to say good-bye to his locker and his laptop.  He said, "I almost got a little misty when I shut my laptop down for the last time."

 

 Skyler wanted a picture of himself walking out the middle school doors for the last time as a 6th grader.  Cute boy.

May 26

End of the year programs.  Shaylin got a bunch of awards.  She was so proud.  

  

Skyler's teachers made breakfast for all of the honor's students and their parents.  Another fabulous picture by Jason.

 

My friend turned around and snapped this picture during Shaylin's assembly.  This was my first time taking Mitchell out in public.  (We're really trying to keep him home for 6 weeks like the doctors ordered.)  Do I look like I'm holding it together?  Barely.

May 25

It's time for some summer hair cuts.  Skyler and Sawyer got shaved.  Macey got a bob like Shaylin's.  Everyone feels lighter and cooler.  I'm jealous.

I love to see this little guy filling up all the empty places in our house.  It's fun to watch him become a part of our family, our routine and our home.

You'll notice that the only place he's NOT napping is in the cute little cradle I ordered for him.  Jason thinks it's too frilly and will turn him gay.

May 23

While everyone was at church, I worked on these.  It made me really wish that knew more about photography, or that I lived closer to Laura.  That would be even better.  

But he's still a doll.

   

      

 See all the poke marks on his heels from getting his blood tested every day?  Sad.

May 22

Last night, Jason took Skyler and Sawyer on the Fathers & Sons Camp Out.  Shaylin was quite offended that daughters weren't invited, so Jason invited her.  She was thrilled.   

Macey and I had a girl's night at home.  It was good to have time alone with her.  I think she just wanted me sit still, look at her, and listen while she talked and talked and talked.  

This morning while the house was quiet, I gave Mitchell his first bath.  He loved it.  He moved his arms and legs slowly around in the water for about 15 minutes.  It was a sweet morning.

His slicked down hair made me giggle.
